Reliance, on Thursday; said that according to TRAI authority it was withdrawing the three months complimentary benefits announced under the Jio Summer Surprise.
Today, the Telecom regulator of India (TRAI) has advised withdrawing the Jio three month’s complimentary benefits of Jio Summer Surprise.
Jio accepted the decision. In the next few days, Jio is in the process of complying with the regulator’s advice for withdrawing the three-month complementary benefits of the summer surprise.
On March 31, Reliance had decided to give its Prime members making their first recharge (Rs 303) plan or higher plans got three months to complementary the benefits of the summer surprise in addition to the benefits of the purchased plan.
On that day, Jio mentioned that: Every customer who makes the first paid recharge of Rs 303 plan or higher plans prior to April 15, will get the three months complimentary benefits. However, the paid traffic plan will only be applied in July, after the expiry of the complimentary services.
By looking at the unprecedented rush of its customers, Reliance decided to buy the Rs 303 plan or higher plans till April 15.
In just one month, over 72 million Jio customers have signed up for Jio Prime membership. Ultimately, the customers made Jio as one of the most successful customer privilege programs anywhere in the world.
Reliance had launched its Jio for free voice and data plans in September 2016 and had extended it till March 31, 2017. Currently, now it has over 100 million customers.
